Driving up Alladin Rd. approaching the Smackout Pass/Creek turn off.
This is a set of pictures of getting to our camp. From Colville, drive north on
Alladin Rd. till you see this fork in the road comming up.
Take note of the Fire Station Ahead sign. A sure clue to our turn off.
The Smackout Creek Rd. is also the driveway of the local district fire department. The fork
in the Alladin Rd. shows up in the distance. The actual road you want is just past the
trees and the bank on the right.
Looking South. Smackout Pass meadow. The big one.
Up the Smackout Creek road a few miles, and you'll definately know you're at the first
or main meadow. The local rancher was rounding up cattle.
A sign at the main meadow about sharing and rotating sections of the pasture.
This sign lets you know also, that you have arrived at the meadows.
Comming out of the trees to the second meadow.
After passing the first meadow and going a good mile through some trees this is the entrance to the second meadow.
This is the turnoff to the camp in 2009. And also entering the second meadow.
In 2009 the camp was off to the right here at the North end of the smaller meadows.
I don't know what to say. The Jeep on the way, along the side of the field.
The Jeep on the road going across the second meadow.
What you see when approaching the camp. We're in the trees on the right.
The camp is on the right in the trees.
This is the driveway to our camp.
The camp is on the right. If you go on past our camp the road veers left to get to Smackout Pass and if you turn right it goes to Meadow Lake. The Meadow Lake road is actually a long way back to the Alladin Rd. and Colville.
The white post in the trees, straight up from the fork in the road, is a witness post for the section line and also the county line. So, taking this picture, I am standing in Pend Oreille County and our driveway is in Stevens County. The line right here is approximately in the wheel track on the right. Being a retired surveyor I am compelled to know that.
Looking into the driveway to our camp. Les has his tent set up in this old road. Zach on guard for squirrels.
My camp is up on the left. This is Les's camp tucked in on the lower road. And the deer I shot died in the trees to the left of Zach.
This is my camp after going up the hump in front of Les's camp.
The camp.
